A Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty, is a popular procedure for anyone carrying excess skin on their abdomen. There are different types of cosmetic tummy tuck procedures:
Full Tummy Tuck
Full or Standard Tummy Tuck Surgery removes the excess fat and skin from the mid section and flanks. It improves the Upper & Lower Abdomen. It in most cases, restores weakened or separated muscles creating a smoother and firmer abdomen profile. Tummy Tuck is a highly individualized procedure. This surgery is often performed in combination with liposuction to the abdomen or surrounding areas, but can also be combined with other procedures such as breast reduction, lift or augmentation. For a more defined result many women choose to have a combined Liposuction treatment to the hips and thighs at the same time.
Average procedure time is 3-4 hours. Both men and women can benefit from this procedure.
Mini Tummy Tuck
A mini tummy tuck targets the fat below the belly button. It includes a shorter, less involved procedure, a quicker recovery, and a flatter, slimmer lower abdomen. A Mini Tummy Tuck only addresses concerns on the lower abdomen, it does not tackle any problem areas around or above the belly button.
Extended Tummy Tuck
The extended tummy tuck is usually performed on patients that have excess fat deposits or sagging in their lower abdominal area and the hip or lower back love handle areas. An extended tummy tuck is performed just like a classic tummy tuck, except that the incision extends around the hips to the back which not only addresses the entire abdomen but also the waist. Due to this procedure being more invasive, patients are typically required to spend one night in the hospital for recovery.
Abdominal Etching
