A Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty, is a popular procedure for anyone carrying excess skin on their abdomen. Tummy tucks for men are different than the procedure for women. Men and women have anatomical differences which is why choosing a surgeon with experience in performing male tummy tucks is important. Not everyone is a good candidate for abdominoplasty. For e.g. a tummy tuck will not improve the appearance of the mid-section of men with large amounts of intra-abdominal fat located around their organs. These individuals may benefit from diet and exercise and may even consider weight loss surgery. During initial consultation Dr. Lo will determine if you are an ideal candidate. Tummy Tuck is a highly individualized procedure. Dr. Lo will examine your abdomen while standing up and while lying down to determine the amount of fat cells and the degree of loosened skin.

Tummy Tuck for Men

Full or Standard Tummy Tuck Surgery removes the excess fat and skin from the mid section and flanks. It improves the Upper & Lower Abdomen. It in most cases, restores weakened or separated muscles creating a smoother and firmer abdomen profile. The incision is in the lower part of the abdomen, typically below the belt line. Average procedure time is 3-4 hours.

Abdominoplasty with Liposuction

While an abdominoplasty is the best surgical solution for eliminating loose and unwanted skin and tightening stomach muscles, many times it alone cannot remove the fat deposits on the sides of the abdominal region. Therefore many male tummy tucks are performed in combination with liposuction to the abdomen or surrounding areas.

Abdominal Etching

Have you been working out to get a six pack on your abdomen, but haven’t had success with getting rid of the last layer of stubborn fat preventing your abdominal muscles from showing through?  Abdominal etching is a type of liposuction that can help. It removes the fat to sculpt the abdominal fat to mimic the look of “six-pack abs.” Abdominal Etching is a sculpting procedure, not a debulking procedure one.

The surgeon will measure the body fat content before deciding whether you are a candidate for the procedure. Dr. Lo specializes in abdominal etching technique for men.
