Otoplasty

Otoplasty, also known as ear reshaping or ear pinning surgery, is a procedure that aims to improve the size, shape, or position of the ears. This surgery is commonly performed to “pin back” ears that protrude too far from the head, but it can also address other concerns such as asymmetry, congenital deformities, or damage from injury. Otoplasty reshapes the cartilage of the ear to create a more natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance, often bringing the ears closer to the head for a balanced look. Whether correcting ears that stick out prominently or adjusting their size and shape, otoplasty can greatly enhance facial symmetry and harmony.

Recovery

Recovery from otoplasty typically takes about one to two weeks. Swelling and discomfort are normal but usually subside within the first week. Patients should avoid strenuous activity for a few weeks and wear a protective headband as directed to ensure optimal healing. Final results will become evident within a few months.
