- Take at least 10-12 days (2 weeks) off from work.
Even though it is a safe procedure, it still needs a few days to heal. It is best to take days off and relax. Taking adequate rest will help your abdominal wall to heal well and get you ready for all the physical chores and activities.
- Eat a healthy and nutritionally balanced diet.
Eat nutritionally balanced meals, including vitamin C-rich foods. Stay hydrated. Drink several glasses of water a day and avoid beverages that contain sugar and caffeine. Strive to cut out smoking and drinking out of your routine during the healing process.

- Have someone around to help.
While recovering, your activities will be limited. For this reason, it can be great idea to have someone around to help you whenever you need it.
- Start doing some walking.
Although rest is essential while your body heals, light activity such as walking can be greatly beneficial to the body.
